Infrastructure

The Redevelopment includes a lot of behind the scenes work to upgrade the hospital's infrastructure for the benefit of patients, clients and staff.

The work has included fire upgrades to comply with new standards and two new switchboards to provide additional capacity. Three new generators have also been installed to upgrade the emergency power requirements and reduce maintenance costs. These new generators are servicing the RHH A, D and H Blocks.

The Redevelopment project and RHH Facilities teams have worked together to oversee the installation of extremely large pieces of equipment and to ensure the continuity of essential supplies.

Infrastructure upgrades were funded from the Tasmanian Government's initial $100 million contribution and almost $4 million from the Australian Government.
