Name the Titan Cranes

Cartoon of a crane, contains the words 'name me'.Two tower cranes are coming to Hobart to help build the Royal Hobart Hospital’s new inpatient building called K-Block.

But they don’t have names! Can you help?

Who can enter?

If you’re aged between 7 and 12 years and are enrolled in one of Hobart’s primary schools you can enter.

What do you have to do?

To enter the competition, you must:

  • name the two cranes something that is important to you, the hospital or Hobart
  • tell us why you think your names are important and
  • provide three fun maths facts about the cranes that will be used to build K-Block.

Example of a fun maths fact – At an estimated weight of eight and 14 tonnes, the tower cranes could definitely lift a Tyrannosaurus, but wouldn’t be able to move it out the full length of the boom because the Tyrannosaurus would just be too heavy.

When does the competition close?

The competition starts on Monday, 3 July 2017 and now closes on Monday, 31 July 2017 at 5 pm.

Is there a prize?

LOL! Yes!

The school of the winner will receive an iPad provided by Titan Cranes.

The winner will also get to name the cranes and receive an award certificate and visit to the construction site for the naming ceremony.

How do you enter?

Read the information - Tower Cranes Fact Sheet and the Terms and Conditions and complete the Entry form.
