New Roads into the Royal

The Royal Hobart Hospital’s (RHH) Liverpool Street forecourt reopened on Saturday, 10 December 2016.

Patient drop-off and collection, including access to the Holman Clinic, is again available in the forecourt.

The forecourt is now a shared space and will also be used for courier deliveries to the hospital. These deliveries require the driver to leave their vehicle and enter the hospital for a short period.

A new loading dock has also been completed as part of the RHH Redevelopment.

All large deliveries and assigned drop and go couriers will use the new Collins Street loading dock. Access to the Collins Street loading dock is by the rear entrance to the Hobart Private Hospital.

To ensure public safety, the area is under traffic management. A queuing bay has been allocated on Collins Street. Delivery vehicles will wait in the queuing bay and proceed to the loading dock when it is free for use.

The former Campbell Street loading dock has been decommissioned and is now part of the construction zone for K-Block.

Information on the new delivery arrangements has been provided to hospital contractors.
