Getting on with K-Block

Five more tenders for the construction of Tasmania's largest ever health infrastructure projects have been listed on the ICN Gateway in May.

The  best way for local contractors to be part of the Royal Redevelopment is to submit for these works packages as they are released by the Managing Contractor.

The opportunities include building works required for the temporary hyperbaric chamber.

The Tasmanian Government’s $689 million Royal Redevelopment includes $12 million to replace the Royal’s ageing hyperbaric chamber. To ensure patient and staff safety during the K-Block build, a temporary hyperbaric chamber will be leased and located away from the direct impact of the construction.

Building works include structural, architectural and service work to prepare for the installation of the temporary chamber.

During the construction of K-Block, contractors will need access to facilities and offices – the supply of site accommodation is another of the tender opportunities available.

Tenders for surveying services, traffic management to assist the flow of trucks delivering and removing materials from the construction site, and an electronic access system for the K-Block construction zone are also included.

Sub-contractors are encouraged to register their interest on the ICN gateway https://gateway.icn.org.au/

The Managing Contractor for the RHH Redevelopment is the John Holland Fairbrother Joint Venture.
