B-Block Commemorative Exhibition

The Royal Hobart Hospital has a visual arts tradition that often goes unrecognised.

In the coming months B-Block will be demolished so that a new ten storey inpatient precinct (known as K-Block) can be built.

A great deal of art work hangs in B-Block – works from patients of the Clozapine clinic art group (mental health outpatients), bequests, gifted works and commissioned works including Patrick Hall’s Quilt (1999).

Formerly of GASP and CAST, Lisa Campbell-Smith has curated art works from B-Block to commemorate the contribution both the art on display and the health care provided there, has made to the hospital and Tasmanians.

The exhibition runs from Monday, 24 October and 7 November 2016.

It is located on levels 1 and 2, in the link-way between A and B-Block.

You can download the catalogue - Celebrating the Future - Remembering the Past Exhibition Catalogue.

There is also a map so you can find the exhibition - Exhibition Information.
